Over Memorial Weekend I joined a group of girls on a climbing trip to Shelf Road. We had an awesome experience while pushing our limits and laughing ALOT! Most the time in the rock climbing world there are boys, very brave ones, who take care of the lady climbers. We decided that we didn't need no stinkin' boys...until we discovered no vacancy in both campgrounds. Needless to say, we batted our eyes and squeezed in on a site with no problem at all!
To make things even more exciting than rock climbing, we had a nightly visit from a black bear. He was in search of marshmallows and beer! Each night the dogs would alarm the boys to jump out of their tents and start throwing rocks at the burly beast while yelling "Get the ef out of here, BEAR!!". It would dash away for the night, but come back in the morning looking for eggs and bacon. It actually stomped our tent down on Saturday while we were climbing, and left a few small holes in the material. I imagine the bear was playing reverse Goldilocks..."this tent is TOOOO big...this tent is TOOOO small..."
Hmmm- so maybe those boys are good for somethin'!
