A grand day in my life.
Here are photos from one of the best days of my life. I pushed myself to the limit and now know that I am indeed alive! Nicki and I keep telling ourselves that if we can run in 40 degree temps and continuous rain-we can do anything. I have to give a warm thanks to all of you that supported us through our fundraising and training journey. We could not have done it without you. Our team raised over 7,000 dollars for the Easter Seals Stroke Program. The pledges have not been assigned yet, but will benefit the program immensely. Thanks again for ALL of your help!
I think I can see the finish line from here, hence the smirk.
LOVE YOU MOM & DADd

I like the picture you have posted in one of your blogs/sites where you're "chasing the fast girl"! It makes me laugh because I can totally get a sense about the mentality of not losing to the fast girl. It's that old rivalry from high school sports.

Uhhh...yeah. I totally beat her!! Not kidding. Anyway, she would crack me up because she would lip sing and get into her music, then accelerate. Suddenly she would be behind me and catch a great song (obviously) and start running fast and singing again. HIL-arious!!

Did you opt for no headphones then?

yeah...tried headphones in another race and it was a distractor. it was almost like i was relying on the music to move me, not my own mind and body. anyway, the atmosphere of the race took me away and i didn't even think about music! i used my ipod through all of my training and presently run with it...can't go without it!
